As a matter of principle, SwissCDC exclusively offers duck CDC (Cul de Canard) feathers sourced from winter plumage. This decision is based on the significantly superior quality these feathers provide.

During the winter season, ducks breed less, resulting in feathers with a noticeably better structure and appearance. In contrast, during warmer periods, breeding ducks are exposed to heat and increased stress, which has a negative impact on feather quality. By selecting only winter feathers, we ensure a consistently high standard.

Our CDC Standard is highly versatile and suitable for a wide range of applications. From the smallest, most delicate dry flies to large mayflies, and from freshwater shrimp patterns to enticing nymphs, streamers, sea trout flies, and even salmon flies — CDC Standard always delivers excellent performance.
